The Great Reform for the 2027 Video Olympics
18 July 2026๐ง๐ท Faustinho suggested playing fewer games but playing them all. Finding a number of 6-8 games that everyone can participate in. I told him that I don't think that's possible because everyone has their own preferences.
Then there's the problem that the games are increasing, but the year is still 12 months long, so we have to decide whether to extend the Video Olympics for two years, ending in September and starting the new tournament in December. Or whether to do as Luca suggests, with a series of fixed games we play every year and a series of games that vary from year to year.
What do you think?
Regarding Luca's suggestion, you could decide that each player chooses one fixed game and two variable games. Then, to choose the variable game, you could draw lots between the two.
Given the sporting nature of the Video Olympics, I think that at least one of the two variable games should be a sports or racing game.
The total would be more or less 16 games, plus fantasy leagues, which make up about 2/3. For a total of 18/19 games per year.
To introduce ๐ง๐ท Faustinho's advice on this major reform, for which I ๐จ๐ฆ am the one most responsible, we can make everyone's participation mandatory for at least the 8 fixed games. In this way, the willingness of various players to play each other's games strengthens friendship and is a demonstration of loyalty (just as I participate in your game, you participate in mine).
It is recommended that each game cost a maximum of 10 euros.
Every part of this reform is subject to change. There may even be additional ideas. It's all part of my proposal, but every part is subject to the will of the majority.
